Idemo is a Yorkshire-based consultancy that supports companies from start-ups to mature SMEs, improving their ability to negotiate and build productive business relationships.
We recognise you are probably good at these things already, so our job is help you expand your thinking, have more 'moves' and to stay skilful when things get hard. We offer much more than advice, with our aim being that you become self-sufficient and come back to us only when you need something more. We recognise that every business owner, entrepreneur and company is different, and you may come to us for a number of reasons...doing better deals, building customer relationships, gearing your team up for growth but the common theme is you all want to be better at business.
Our style is to be your partner; to listen, to understand, to challenge, to support and to educate, all in a professional, relaxed and friendly manner. We are energetic, rarely do suits (unless you want us to) and love rolling our sleeves up with you over a cuppa, either in-person or virtually.
The Team at Idemo bring over 20 years of experience, working with clients big and small to create value, improve business relationships and performance. And we have worked with both buyers and sellers, so we understand how 'the other side' generally operates.

At Idemo, we recognise that people learn in different ways. However, there will always come a time when knowledge needs to be turned into action. Our training programmes are built to appeal to different styles; blending a bit of theory, practical tools and some discussion to get our heads round things. There are plenty of activities to practice and finally reflection time to work out how to take new learning back to work. We have some standard programmes ready to go or we can work with you to create something that meets your specific circumstances.
That may sound expensive yet most of our clients recover the cost of training very quickly by getting improved results. A few years ago, one of the clients Russell worked with recovered the cost of training simply in time saved over the next few months (they actually made a lot of money too but we can't talk about that!)

Coaching is different from mentoring, which provides direct advice and shares specialist knowledge. We would recommend a mentoring approach if your goal is to develop your personal negotiation and relationship management skills.
After almost 20 years in the book business, buying and selling millions of books, Russell had a mid-life crisis and left a well-paid job to join a fast-growing UK-based training consultancy. He led that business for 13 years through a period of significant growth, twice being awarded a Queen's Award for Enterprise for International Trade in the process.
In that time Russell worked in partnership alongside several of the founders of the Harvard Negotiation Project where he became a seasoned practitioner in their methodologies.
He is also certified in several recognised behavioural diagnostics and has and MSc from the University of South Wales.
Judith's background is in operational law enforcement where negotiation and influencing were essential when working with executive leaders, colleagues, team members as well as those who had transgressed the law. Recognising what a good outcome looked like and how to pull together diverse views helped her resolve many a difficult conversation.
Judith has been a professional facilitator and certified coach for over 10 years. In that time, she has trained and coached thousands of people in the 'interests based' approach to negotiation developed by the Harvard Negotiation Project.
She remains a faculty member of a commercial spin-off of HNP and continues to deliver their training programmes worldwide.
As we can't be in two places at once, Idemo has a small team of UK based facilitator / coach / trainers. Each brings their own mixture of experience both in business and with clients.
Their power comes from their diversity but the thing that binds us is a commitment to growing business, making it better and improving the outcomes our clients get from their interactions with the customers.
